Kyoryuger the Zyuranger Remake

The plot for Kyoryuger has been revealed and it seems very similar to another. By similar I mean exactly the same. Which series, well read the plot yourself and guess.

"Long ago, in the time of the dinosaurs, the earth was invaded by forces from outer space. The only people capable of the stopping them was a team known as the Kyouki Ryu no Sha, the People of the Strong Dragons, or, Kyoryuger for short. Now, in the modern world, they return using the powers of the Beast Batteries to fight off this revived threat."
If you know Super Sentai then this should sound familiar to you. The plot is basically Zyuranger. The only big difference is that the enemies are from space while Bandora was sealed and put on the moon. The villains were in the dinosaur age and only certain warriors were able to fight them. Like Zyuranger, five warriors were selected to fight Bandora and they were sealed so that they can fight her again if she came back. Heck when the space villains return it is said that the same heroes come back to fight them once more. This is probably like the first time that a Sentai is sounding exactly the same to another. Maybe their reason is that Zyuranger was a very happy series most of the time, which is said to be the tone for Kyoryuger. For right now this doesn't sound to well for me personally since I am watching Zyuranger at the moment and it's okay it really only got great around the Burai episodes. Overall I am expecting this Sentai to do well for the core audience, but other fans could have problems with it.
Another thing I want to talk about are the suits and the weapons were revealed as well, but I will talk about them when we see them in use. The suits are okay so far from the images I have seen as there are three things that bug me. First is the helmet, personally it looks really good expect for one thing. The silver piece in the lower part of the visor. I see what they are doing and it looks good when you see it facing you, but at other angles which we go get in pictures like this one doesn't look as good then. Next is the big yellow slab they got across their chest. It completely ruins the color scheme as I think another color should have been used like silver or white. Finally there seems to be changes of color tones in the suits. The arms seem to have a darker tone and again it just pops out and ruins the overall look. The worst is Black and by this picture it seems his arms are greyish since nothing can be darker than black. I am hoping this series will have more than what it's offering right now since it's the third dinosaur Sentai as it completely copies the first one. Kyoryuger will premiere the 17th of February.
This does make me want to watch Zyuranger more though

  1. Eh, Glamador tried to get into a couple Sentais. Didn't stick. Shame Kakuranger isn't subbed.

The only Zyuranger Glam likes is green. That shoulder ornamentation/padding makes ALL the difference to the outfit. The Kyoryuger getup is much more pleasing to the eye. Though not as much as the leather ones from Go-Busters.

It is a REAL shame that Go-Busters was such a flop because it means they'll probably be sticking to spandex for the foreseeable future...

That said, can't really say I see the similarities in the stories. Don't most sentai baddies come from space? Feels like they do. And Zyurangers weren't the first dino-themed team were they? Thought there was one more.

The crown on the megazord (what's the JPN name for the mechs?) is neat.

  2. Abaranger was another Dino team yes, but they aren't old heroes coming back to fight off the villains. In Zyuranger there are ancient warriors and in this upcoming Sentai the same heroes from the past return to fight. Also I don't know the name of the mech, but yea it looks good from the pictures.

  3. Actually we are not sure if they are new warrior or past warriors. The traduction was made by Dukemon22 and he said he wasn't sure.
