Engine Sentai Go-Onger Review

Since I have been gone a while I think its time for my first Sentai series review and why not with the series I started with Go-onger! Go-onger is about a team of five young adults who have been selected by the Engines to help them fight the Gariak a machine race that wants to pollute the many worlds so they can live there. The Engines are from Machine World and they chased the Gariak out of their world, but now they go to the Human World and find out they cannot stay in their normal form as they shrink and their souls come out of their bodies. This is why they needed the help of the humans so that they can be summoned to battle. With new members joining both humans and engines they gain new powers to fight off the Gariak. Like other sentai series its pretty simple, but that is what the franchise is known for and it always works well mostly with the help of many elements. Go-onger shares some similarites with Carranger as it as a car theme and is a comedy series. The comedy in this series can go over the top and sometimes they can do things you won't expect coming. The series can also have serious moments like in the final episodes or a big fight with the main villians. The characters also go through this as they can serious or comedic. Sosuke is a fighter who always believes in himself and even without a lot of training he fights very hard and well. Sosuke is also known for going over the top during the time of action if it is a fight or something happens with the gang. Renn is probably the most mature out of the group as he acts like a motherly figure with the team because he can do many chores like cooking. Saki is similar to Sosuke as she has a lot of belief in herself as she loves to smile a lot. Even if she does get sad she can boost herself back up. Hanto is a part-time worker as he soon joins the team because of his interest in them. He does get other jobs at times and sometimes he doesnt stay because of his short attention span, but during a fight if he puts is mind to it he can do a lot. Gunpei is a former detective as so he says as he wanted to join the team because he wanted to stop the Gariack as he is a great shot. At first he seemed very serious, but when he joins the team he starts to be more relaxed and can go over the top as well. Hiroto and Miu are the Go-on Wings and at first they didnt want to be involved with the Go-ongers because of their lack of experience. They are the most serious characters as they fight very differently than the others. Soon though they start to change as they get used to the team.

I will also talk about the Engines because they are characters as well and they can play big parts in the series by helping the heroes. First is Speedor who is Sosuke's partner and acts like him as speed is his game. Buson is Renn's partner and he likes to talk a lot and he has his own opinions on everyone as he sometimes talks about them at times. Bear RV is a female engine and she is very close to Saki as both act very much the same as she is happy a lot. Birca is similar to Hanto as well as he follows with him at times and encourages him at times he can also speak some other languages at times. Gunpherd is a serious engine as he always wants to be perfect and he acts like a police officer which gives him and Gunpei a great bond. There are many other engines, but we will be here forever if I talk about each one. The villians are interesting as they can be very smart, but sometimes they have dumb plans and can act like idiots. First is Yogostein and he is the most serious one and looks like the most powerful of the group, but he can actually have too much belief in himself which does blind him at times and can lead to some big downers for him. Kitaneidas is the brains out of the three and at first he never understood Yogostein at times, but he did like him. The same can be said about Kegaleshia as she never understood him either. She is also the one that can get mad the most as that can affect her plans at times. Overall every character has a comedic side and yet can act serious.

Pros- I like the comedy in this series because at times I cant predict what will happen and that is good for any type of series. The cast is also great I have to say even with some falling a little weak at times, but overall they all can be strong. The main fights are well done as they can add new weapons, allies, or anything else to keep things fresh. The engines are nice little characters because they can boost the series up and like the others they can be very funny at times. The villians are pretty nice as they can prove to be a threat, but at times can act silly. The final episodes are great imo because everything cant be all happy as those episodes were more serious which does remind me of Den-o because their final episodes were serious as well. The new characters are very good like Hiroto and Miu are amazing characters because of their great fighting experience and how strict they are at times, but they soon start to relax. Even new villians are great because they show how powerful the Gariack are as they can be a great challenge.

Cons- The mecha fights are good when they started, but soon when they started to pile more engines on it, the fights got a little boring. Sometimes the comedy can fire back because there are some points you will go "What the hell!" Some characters can be ignored, but it isnt as bad as Goseiger because each member can play a role in each episode.

Overall- Go-onger is a personal favorite of mine because it can always make me laugh and can be very action packed. It also has good serious moments as the actors can switch around their moods greatly. Sure the mecha fights can get boring soon, but those are always near the end and the other action scenes are great. I give Go-onger an A- because of its great comedy, cast, and action.

The movie was ok even though it was short.

Gokaiger Episode 36 Reivew: Final Lap!

Well the episode starts off with the Gokaigers having no way to enter Human World as the three engines try to bust it open, but they dont have full power so it doesnt work. Doc has an idea to go to Machine World to find MachFalcon because he should be fine since he didnt fight the Gariack yet. Back at the Human World the Gariack begin their attack as it seems nothing is in their way. The Zangyack see what is going on and Gils' first reaction is why havent the Gokaigers shown up since they always ruin his plans. The team get to Machine World and everyone is amazed of what this world looks like, but they soon find MachFalcon. At first Speedor and Bear RV try to get him to help and even though he did stop he just ignored them later and continued to run away. Sosuke tries to talk to him as he tries to act like a police officer, but he soon goes crazy and makes nonsense. Mostly about how he knew MachFalcon as a boy and how he acted with his family back then. Gai is mostly correcting him, but Sosuke continues on and says that he should act like a hero because of his parents. That got MachFalcon pissed then as he attacks the Gokai Galleon and soon Marvelous and the gang fight back.

Back with the Gariack they run into the Zangyack and the MOTW forgot about them since he was mostly focused on the Gokaigers. Gils is pissed off at him as a fight soon breaks out between grunts, but with Insarn and Barizorg it seems the Zangyack have a better chance. In Machine World the group try to hit MachFalcon around, but he soon gets Ahim and Luka out. Doc gets a good hit on him and Joe fires away at him. MachFalcon though beings to fly, but Marve is on him. He says as pirates they will take whatever they want even by force as he soon starts to talk about how MachFalcon is just running away from his parents. As soon as Marve gets MachFalcon on the ground the three combine to make the upper part of Gokai-oh and land on him putting chains around him. After the fight MachFalcon says he was jealous of his folks as they were fighting for something and he had nothing. Marve says that there are many worlds and he should travel around to find that purpose. MachFalcon then says he wants to join the crew as Marve agrees. Mach's first job is to open up the portal to Human World as Mach gets through as the team go forth while the Engines and Bomber stay in Machine World.

When the crew arrives they see that the fight is still continuing as they just jump right in as they take both groups on. Gils though retreats with Insarn and Barizorg as they leave their grunts around. Soon the team use Go-onger's power as they do the "met on" from the Go-onger series and yes Gai is the Go-on wings combo. The team take down all the grunts as they face the leader who actually gets a good hit on them first. The group use Go-onger's weapons and Doc does a new move for Go-on Green as he follows Marve with the Saber Straight and performs Axe Touring. The team attack him with the Galleon Buster, but that doesnt kill him as he grows big. The team fight him in their mechas and again the leader proves to be strong as he starts out with good attacks. The team use Go-onger's powers as MachFalcon was summoned and they inserted the Engine Soul in him. Gokai-oh combines with him by lossing it's legs and riding on top of him. They finish him with a simple slash from above (yea its a bummer I thought it was going to be awsome since the finisher was called Grand Prix). After the fight MachFalcon tells the team they can summon him anytime they want as he leaves. Sosuke then talks about how his views on them changed because they do care about other worlds as they got an engine partner now. Everyone then tells him that the whole team is made of people from different planets as Marve was the on who recurited them. Sosuke then rambles on about how he should join the group as he starts to think of names like Gokai Fire (I would love to see that).

I really liked this episode as it really felt like Go-onger. This episode focused on the team recuriting an engine partner like the Go-onger series did for some episodes. Sosuke was still funny like he was before and how the villians interacted were good as well and got a laugh out of me. I loved the fight as the team used Go-onger's powers because seeing Gai as the combo form is always awsome as he uses both Jet Daggers as he uses the full power of them in Mission Six! Also seeing Doc doing the Touring Axe along with Marve doing Saber Straight was funny and awsome. The Gariack villian was good and he did seem like a threat actually because he thought of a smart plan and was pretty strong I wonder how he did in the fight before the Gokaigers came back? MachFalcon is pretty cool as well because he is voiced by a pretty famous voice actor and has good tricks. Sadly though the mecha fight was lame and I mean it, it was a bummer seeing this fight. It was a little boring, Gai mostly did nothing, and the finisher was lamer than the finisher in the Go-onger and Shinkenger team up during their mecha fight. Overall though its a great episode with good humor and introuducing a new memeber of the team and I still like how the Gokaigers actually had to fight him to make him calm down. The villian was pretty cool even though he is the same as the villian from Go-onger and Shinkenger team up, oh well the Gekiranger tribute did the same as well. Its just the mecha fight is really disapointing as it feels really anti-climatic, but thats the only bad thing about this episode so an A-

I really did like that they used an Engine Soul like the Go-onger series.

Gokaiger Episode 35 Review: Go-On!

Its time for the Go-onger's tribute episode as we open with Bomper dropping from the sky into the ship. There she talks about how she worked with the Go-ongers she also wants them to take her to meet someone. There we see Sosuke as he does his pose from the show and we see his shadow picture which is probably the best because he is doing his pose. Gai goes fan crazy as he says he is Gokai Silver, Bomper didnt even know that they were the Gokaigers, but either way before Sosuke tells the team about Go-onger's great powers Bomper tells him about Gairac in the Gunman World. Sosuke tries to get the Gokaigers to help, but they refuse because it doesnt benefit them. We also find out that Speedor, Buson, and Bear RV lost to the Gairac as they went back into their small forms. Sosuke tries to get their on his own, but nothing works as the team have a change of heart after seeing him try again and again, saying that seeing a different dimension will be nice.

In the Gunman world we already see Gairac troops attacking people as Sosuke jumps in, but when he is heavily out numbered the team go in and fight again Marve says that they just tick them off. After Gai and Sosuke leave with the citizens the team use Battle Fever and Changeman's powers to finish off the troops. After the fight Sosuke find the three engines as they all regroup at a restaurant where we find somethings out. First we find out that Speedor and Bear RV got married and not only that they have a son! Their son is named MachFalcon and sadly he wouldnt help in the battle as he mostly acts like a bad boy. Soon the Gairac offical comes in and challenges them to a duel or all the people will be killed. Marve takes his offer as his meal has been ruined and before the duel Marve tells Sosuke that he is an idiot because he is fighting for an alien world. Sosuke though brings up that they are also fighting for this world and even Earth.

The duel starts as Sosuke will filp a coin and when it falls to the ground they will shoot. The coin goes into the air, but the MOTW cheats and fires before it falls. Marve though still follows the rules as he waits and shoots the bullet down. The monster is pissed off as he tries to get him with his troops, but they were shot down by the others. The team fight him and use Dekaranger's powers and finish him with Gokai Legend Dream and the Galleon Buster. The monster though still stands as he uses Industrial Revolution to grow big. During the mecha fight the group tried to use Go-onger's great power, but nothing happens as they just use Hurricanger's again. The monster is killed as the group are going to leave soon, but Sosuke tries to tell them about the Go-onger's powers, but he is interrupted by a Gairac leader who had trapped them in the Gunman world.

Well that's episode 35 and its a good episode. It did feel rushed at times, but seeing Sosuke is nice as he is funny as ever. The team acted like the anti-heroes they are as they mostly fight for their own reasons. The monster was ok, but he looked a little odd. He did remind me though of Chirakasonne though with his star eye. The fights were good nothing too special expect for when they use Battle Fever because I think its the first time they used in the series. The mecha fight was quick which is ok, but now I dont want to see Hurricane Gokai-oh anymore for a while. Also I liked the comedy this episode had because it reminded me of Go-onger and why I loved it so this episode gets an A-. Next week MachFalcon will join the team as they use Go-onger's great power!

Power Rangers Team Up Samurai and RPM

Yea I'm not kidding somehow Saban is crossovering to a disney series, hey disney did it so why not. First I want to say something, Go-onger was a light hearted series that was funny, the adaption was dark and still had humor, but it was a post-apocalyptic theme so yea completely different than Go-onger. Shinkenger was more of a darker series than Go-onger, but it also had good humor and really enjoyable cast for both heroes and villians, the adaption is a rip off of Shinkenger yet its trying to be a light hearted series. So get it Go-onger was light hearted RPM was dark, but Shinkenger was dark and Samurai is light hearted its funny that two completely opposite sentai team up, but its switched now for Power Rangers. RPM is the dark series while Samurai is trying to be funny. Well this is real and will come sometime this year after two flashback episodes... great....

The Clash of the Red Rangers - a crossover special where the Samurai Rangers team with the mysterious RPM Rangers Red fend off the dual threat from Master Xandred's Mooger army and robotic super-villain from the RPM Ranger's dimension. When something goes awry, the two Red Rangers turn on one another and the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

Now the episode says that only the Red Ranger will come well thats interesting it actually sounds original, but..... it isnt. The plot is copying the Shinkenger and Go-onger team up so... F%#$! It was soooooo close to being original! Now we know they wont use the footage from the movie because it looks completely different from the series footage so they will probably copy the scene, but shoot it themselves. So will the others be coming in this and will it be a two parter? We have to wait for this unoriginal episode sometime this year and I can wait!



Goakiger Guest Star Rumors

Well it seems that Gokaiger will be doing a lot more tributes in a row now, but they are rumors and there are other rumors that Gokaiger will have more than 50 episodes Also they are still rumors so they could be true or false. First is the Go-onger tribute which will be a two parter with Yasuhisa Furuhara returning as Go-on Red this will also debut the Gokai-oh and Gozyujin combination mecha. Go-onger was the first sentai I saw so I really cant wait to see this Sosuke is one of my fave red warriors. Also this will be a two parter so there leaves a lot of time to do many references to the series. Go-on Yellow did appear in both movies, but she wont appear in the series, darn.

Next is the Dairanger episode which will have Keiichi Wada play as Ryou (Ryuuranger) and another red favorite of mine. Sadly still no rumors about Yutaka returning, but he could easily do a voice role like a past villian for Liveman did in that tribute episode. If Jin is even mentioned I will be happy because so far there hasnt been any reference to Yutaka expect for Liveman talking about the friends who turned evil.

Right after Dairanger is the Kakuranger tribute having Teruaki Ogawa play another role of his as Ninja Red. I dont know much about Kakuranger, but I do have a feeling that they will make a comparison to KuroKishi for a joke since its the same actor. There could even be a chance for a Ninjaman ranger key to be introduced if possible.

I have a feeling that sword will be the power for the mecha

Next is Megaranger having Hayato Oshiba and Masaya Matsukaze to play as their roles of Megared and Megablue. I have seen over twenty episodes of this series and the team up with Carranger. It would be very cool if they use the Nejirangers for this episode because how awsome would that be. Seeing our new heroes fight an evil sentai. That would probably be very hard though to get all five voice actors though, but if it happens it would make fans happy.

Now another pre zyu sentai series tribute with Fiveman! Toshiya Fuji will return as Fivered and I saw about ten episodes of that series and I really like it. So I may not know a lot, but Fiveman is a series I want to see very badly. The fight scene will probably be awsome because the team will use the Five Tectors.

Next is a big pre zyu series Bioman with Ryosuke Sakamoto as Red One returning. I have seen a couple of episodes and I do know how big this series got with fans. It also got a lot of international fans so this will be a big episode for Gokaiger no doubt about that.

Now the 2nd sentai series will get their tribute JAKQ! With big toku star Hiroshi Miyauchi returing as Big One. I really cant wait for this episode because we will see the master of disguise at work again. Also he is a big star in the toku franchise playing as the Aoranger, Kamen Rider V3, and Zuubat. So seeing a big star like him is going to be a lot of fun.

Now this is the tribute I cannot wait for the Sun Vulcan tribute! Its another red returning, but its both of them! Yes both Ryusuke Oowashi and Takayuki Godai will return and how awsome is that both of the VulEagles will return it will be very interesting to see these two together. I do wonder though how will the fight go because Sun Vulcan only had three members. They should at least have Doc be VulPanther because seeing the three males fight it out as Sun Vulcan will be great.

Finally the last tribute that has been mentioned is Battle Fever J the thrid sentai series and the first one to have a robo. It will have Kenji Ohba who played as Battle Kenya and yes! Kenya is a favorite of mine and I so cant wait also he played as Denjiblue and Gavan the first metal hero so another big toku star will appear. for the mecha power because it will summon the Battle Fever Robo and it wont be a quick summon hopefully I want to see that robo in action because its the first robo in sentai!

So yea they took some cheap shots with using similar actors with Ninjared and Battle Kenya, but its very hard to get actors to play roles again because there could be money issues or something else with their lives. Just be happy there are even any past actors. Im also still wondering if there will be tribute for Changeman, Flashman, and Maskman because of episode 31 of Gokaiger if you saw it you know what I'm thinking about.

OhPink in Gokaiger!

Well the ohranger tribute has been a rumor with Red and Pink returning. So far we got a picture of Tamao Satō in her outfit from the series again. I have seen 4 episodes of Ohranger so I know little about it, but I do know that it had low ratings and some fans really hate this series. People say though its only because of some bad things being said about it and now I mostly hear its an under rated series. Also no picture yet from Masaru Shishido (OhRed), but high chance he will be in the episode as well. Another thing about the picture is how Tamao looks, Ohranger aired in 1995 and she still looks young. I know she is has a movie career so maybe she was taking good care of herself for the movies. Still we got two older sentai veterans who still look good even after a good amount of years the first one being Toshihide Wakamatsu (Gai Yuki).

Also rumors for Go-onger's tribute is out with Yasuhisa Furuhara (Go-on Red) returning who is a personal fave of mine and Go-onger was the first sentai series I watched so I cant wait for that episode. Then there is the Dairanger tribute with Keiichi Wada (Ryuranger) coming back like he did for the first Gokaiger movie. Im still hoping that Yutaka is coming back for this tribute because this will be a great moment for Ryou and Jin to have a final fight.

You know you want to see them fight again.



Possibilty: More Team Ups In Gokaiger

We all know that the Hurricangers will fight once more time with the Gokaigers, but could this happen again with other tributes? I'm going to discuss on the two tributes that have been revealed so far and some I would like to see.

First we got the fan favoirte of the one of the best sentai series, Black Condor from Jetman. It would be awsome to see this badass fight again with the team. Who could they fight though that needs the help of a veteran. Well I think Tranza could easily come back since he didnt die. That would be amazing to see another veteran villian come back, to see a veteran warrior fighting him, and the fact the actor will be Yutaka Hirose! If you dont know this guy then you are missing out of my favoirte villians of super sentai! This guy mostly played as the rival villian for the leader. Also his acting was very good in each role he does. So seeing two veteran actors return in an episode or possibly a two parter will be blow my mind!

The next actor who was revealed to come back is Kazuhiko Nishimura, I saw a little bit of Jetman I am easily trying to find more episodes because this is another pre zyuranger sentai series. Also another thing with Liveman it had Yutaka as a villian so maybe in someway they can have his ghost or something like that attack again. Dr. Kemp could have kept himself alive somehow also because of all the science he learned, but it could easily keep him very weak until he finds a way to revive his body. This could be a two parter as well, but high chance that wont happen because Kemp is dead no doubt unless something happened in Liveman near the end because I didnt see the whole thing and dont spoil it for me either.

Since Boukenger still had a tribute episode there is a high chance that Dairanger could still get one, but who could come back. No doubt it is Ryuranger, but Shishi Ranger did appear in another sentai series before which was Hurricanger so he could come back as well. If the whole team does come back I would faint because Dairanger is becoming my favoirte sentai series I saw about 20 episodes and I want to see more. Again another possible chance to bring Yutaka back to play as Jin who is easily my favoirte of his characters. I know what happens to him so he probably wont come back for that, but maybe he could make a brief appearance to motivate Ryuranger or he could just come back as a hero. Jin was an anti hero so making him a villian isnt impossible, but high chance it would be done by a new Gorma who did the same revival that Emperor Gorma the 15th did in the series.

Go-onger had Saki come back in the movie, but the whole team did come back for the Shinkenger team up so they could easily be back also I remember rumors about Go On Red coming back. Go-onger was the first sentai series I saw so seeing the whole team come back would just make me fall over in joy. Since the Go-ongers had faced villians from different dimesions before they can easily do that again like in the Shinkenger team up. Also I know that Go-onger's great power would make a combination of Gokai-oh and Gozyujin so high chance it would be a big episode for that reveal, so a good chance for another team up that I am hoping to see.

I'm going to end it there for now because I dont know every sentai series like Dynaman. So I cant say how an episode can go for those series, but overall what I would like to see the most is that Yutaka returns as one of his roles hack could even be for the flashman tribute who knows?
