Akibaranger Episode 6 Review: Action!

Things already go into the weird as it seems Hiroyo and one of her co-workers are acting out Jetman fan fiction which is being written by Yumeria. Nobuo comes in and has great news, but he stops as he notices that the two girls are going to kiss. It seems that Hiroyo was just helping Yumeria get out of her writer's block and she doesn't kiss the co-worker (TEASE!). Yumeria is out of it as she decides on the title which is called "Fall For
Me." Nobuo picks up that it's like the Jetman episode and yes the fan fic is with Grey and Gai... Anyways Nobuo shows Hiroyo a package he has to deliver and it's going to Toei. Both Hiroyo and Nobuo are excited since it's the mecca of Sentai. He then decides to take Mitsuki along so that she can learn something about the official heroes. Yumeria doesn't join because she has to corrupt the world? We see her walking around the city and she finds two guys with disappointment in their faces. The two men are fans of a female singing group and missed their chance for tickets, but luckily a man appears to give them backstage tickets. Back to Nobuo and Mitsuki they are almost out of range, but when he stops at the red light he sees Sayaka crossing the street. There she asks of Nobuo to take her to the office since her heel broke. Back to the two fans and we see that they have been tricked. They have been given different tickets and soon the salesman uses magic to seal them on their foreheads. The salesman is today's MOTW as he sends the two fans flying out. There Yumeria transforms and since the other two are still in range they transform after they drop off Sayaka.
The fight is about to begin, but this time the setting is very different. They are on a stage as the creature attacks with ash trays. The team try to escape since it's too cramped, but the grunts appear and make an invisible box around them by stage direction. It seems that the creature as the power to throw reality out of the door with his screen play directions as the grunts use their boxes as heavy weapons. The grunts start to put white "X's" around the stage as act two is beginning. It's called Battlefield and whenever the rangers step on an "X" an explosion will occur. Blue falls for this first and soon the rest of them are flailing around getting hit by the explosions. Next Shimo turns out the lights and makes himself hide in the darkness, but in reality he is hiding behind a black wall that is moved around by the grunts. The team has lost and the delusion is cancelled. Nobuo doesn't mind though as he wants to get moving quickly, but Mitsuki doesn't want to go anymore. Nobuo though tells her that if she goes she will learn the truth about Sentai battle. The Carranger theme starts to play as the package gets delivered and now the two sneak their way further inside the building. The two do get further in and Nobuo sees the Greek Pillars which was recently used in Gokaiger and Fourze. Nobuo then notices a building prop that was used in episode 6 of Gekiranger (dang now that's hardcore knowledge) he tries to get a picture of him near it. Next the two reach Oomori hill where Nobuo reactants a scene from episode 39 of Timeranger where Ayase fell down when it was raining. Mitsuki quickly gets pissed off seeing that Nobuo lied about the true meaning of battle and runs off.
Nobuo tries to stop her and luckily she does when she notices an older man. He is doing some stunts with another stunt actor as they fight with wooden swords. Mitsuki is impressed with the man and Nobuo says it is Niibori. He is a very stuntman who has been every red warrior since Goranger and until Jetman. Mitsuki quickly goes up to him as tells him that she is the Blue warrior in Akibaranger and she wants some help with her matrial arts. Niibori is surprised to hear the name and thinks it's going to be the next Sentai. Now she sees that Nobuo wasn't lying, but in reality he was. Her first lesson is about her role call which is something she doesn't really do well at. She just says the name, but Niibori tells her that the pose draws from her skills and without it the fight won't do well. Back to Yumeria who is still going on with her fan fiction and she mentions the words grey zone as it activates another delusion. We then see Mitsuki learning more from Niibori as Nobuo narrates for a little while and is sad that he isn't joining. The next lesson starts as he ties a cloth around her eyes since the helmet will nearly blind her. Mitsuki is confused by this, but does it anyway with perfection. Yellow soon appears back on the stage and before the others join Mitsuki learns one more thing. Niibori tells her about the magic behind the camera and that is whatever the camera catches it's reality in the world of film. She is then called by Hiroyo to enter in the delusion as she runs off with Nobuo, but he wanted to get an autograph. The two enter into the delusion and get Yellow away from Shimo. The role call begins with Blue as she performs a much better, but longer one. Red talks about how he liked Niibori as Red Hawk the most and Yellow talks about her rottenness.
Malshina then appears and tries to shoot down the heroes. Red though switches the scene as Malshina and Shimo are transported into a classroom from Awa High? The scene starts and kids start to flood the room, some go to Malshina about their platters and Shimo is picked on for his bad grades. Malshina soon gets inside of a locker and Shimo is attacked by balls of paper thrown by the kids and for some reason they hurt. The team soon shows themselves as they are in the Toei studio and now they will torment the villains with their delusions. Shimo jumps out of a window, but another scene change occurs and he is in a destroyed set. Malshina gets out of the locker and there she sees a drawing of Hiroyo when she was younger. With Shimo he is attacked by three priest (kinda odd how the same costumes were used in Fourze recently). It ends up it was the team disguised as they disrobe them off. Shimo tries to attack, but all of a sudden Red Hawk appears! Red Hawk slashes and kicks Shimo into different scene where Shimo is now in a movie theater. The movie starts as it stars the team as a gangsta team as they shoot their guns at Shimo. Another scene change and this time Blue is fighting alone as Red and Yellow film the action. With Malshina we see portals coming out of nowhere around her as she starts to walk towards them. Thanks to the magic of film Blue can even hit Shimo, but in reality she didn't even touch him. With the camera facing Shimo's back though it looks like she did hit him. Soon Shimo turns out the lights by destroying them with his ash trays, but Blue uses the eyes in her mind to fight him. The scene is then changed once more to the outside and there Shimo tries to fly away, but Red Hawk soon appears and gives Red his powers. Red Hawk transforms into a pair of wings and Akibared starts to fly in the air he then dashes through Shimo, finishing him off. After the fight the team regroup and somehow Malshina is in the real world!
Episode 6 is a very good episode, probably my favorite so far. First I like that the show gave more focus to the stunt actors and played with some jokes about filming. Yumeria going on her own was kinda odd and seemed pointless, but someone had to stay around I guess. I loved seeing Niibori and it was nice to see him on film for once, but sadly Kotaro Tanaka didn't return for his role. It was odd just seeing a soundless Red Hawk fight and it reminds me off how Basco summoned rangers. At least they could of had Niibori be the man behind the helmet. The action was amazing as it blended with some comedy like episode 3 did. I loved seeing all of the scene directions as it made a good original fight. Another thing that was nice is that it started with play direction and then it moved to film direction. Both of those scenes show major differences in how are executed which made them more enjoyable to watch. The play scenes had focus on the actual script, but for film it was more focus for the director and the camera. Overall a lot of things worked greatly and I can't wait to see how the heroes will fight Malshina since she is real now, an A
Next Time: Machine Itasshar's first fight!

Gokaiger Episode 28 Review: Gai Yuuki Is A Badass! (Spoilers to the Jetman series)

I will say this to begin the review, this is my favoirte tribute episode yet. Well the episode starts off with Gai playing cards with a girl and saying that he needs to take a drink outside. The Gokaigers fighting giant grunts with their mechs by using Gaoranger and Hurricanger powers along with Gozyujin to finish them off. Lord Gil is now not angry about every loss, because he says the more you lose the more relaxing it gets, lol. Well Barizorg sent down one of the best bounty hunters out there who fought Marvelous before. Marvelous is actually afraid of him, but he still fights with the team. Even with Flashman and Maskman powers they were useless on the Red Boba Fett. He lets them go though because he knows if they survived from this fight their price will go up. This guy only sees that money and fighting are his purposes and that greed makes him insane, but easily the best MOTW of the series so far. Well Navi gives the team another prediction about a phoenix defeating a great enemy. The team think this power will defeat the bounty hunter and Gai knows its the Jetman team and he even talks about their lives right now. Raito seems to be successful with an international store, Ako is living the life of a pop star, and Ryo and Kaori are still married. Then there were rumors of a missing member.

While looking around for the team members, Luka, Joe, and Doc meet Gai himself. Of course he is trying to flirt with Luka, but when Joe gets a little too involved Gai hits him and steals the Mobirate like the badass he is! Then he catches up to the other three as Marvelous tries to get the Mobirate back, but Gai is too awsome for him as Marve strugles facing him. Gai cant see him though for some reason while the others can. I guess it is because Gai isnt dying like last time. Well after that Marve's Mobirate is stolen, Yuki tells them not to get the others, and then Gai talks about Yuki who was Black Condor in the team. Marve meets him again and tries to get the Mobirate back, but he is too shaken up about the bounty hunter still as Yuki says that he is actually a coward and isnt ready for Jetman's powers.

Marve tries to follow Yuki and he soon loses him, but he looks down and sees a grave stone with Gai Yuki on it. Gai comes back and now he sees that Yuki did die and at the grave we see things from other memebers like the ramen from Jetman, veggies, flowers, booze, and cigarettes. Now the bounty hunter comes back, but Yuki is the first to fight him and the grunts first he fights out of suit facing the grunts. Then when the team gets there Yuki transforms into Black Condor even without his key and he fights the hunter and now we see why he didnt want the others to come back. Gai wants to protect the rest of the team because they now have normal lives and dont want them to die like him. Marve finally gets his head straight and will face his fears of death itself. Yuki then backs down and lets the team finish the hunter with Jetman's powers by using the Phoenix attack from the last episode of Jetman and this is the first time a past sentai power kills the MOTW.

After the fight the team talks with Yuki saying its time for them to protect the skys he fought for back then. Also he is sitting on a park bench reminds me of the final episode of Jetman. Now Yuki leaves and goes back to heaven and Gai is pissed that he couldnt see him at all! Well Gai goes back to where he was originally with the girl in the bar playing cards and him playing the sax. That woman is lucky! So that episode 28 and my goodness what an episode. This is my favorite episode of the series and will be for a while because it finally ends the debate about Gai living or not with him dying. This episode makes me think of Gai now more than ever because even if he is dead he still fights to protect the rest of the team. Also with a great villian for this episode and having Gai be the supporter for Marve like he was for Ryuu back then. Gai just got even more badass for this episode and it is awsome to see him come back for this episode and even after 20 years he looks great. That women is still very lucky! So with that I give this episode an A+ its very nostalgic to the Jetman series and ends the biggest debate in the Super Sentai Franchise RIP Gai Yuki.

The Return of Gai Yuuki Part 2

More pictures are coming out for the Jetman tribute and oh my goodness HES GOING TO FIGHT ALONG WITH THE TEAM! I have a feeling that this is going to be one of my favoirte tributes and this could mean that more veterans could fight along with the team because they can easily get their keys back and they can be taken out of them too. Now I think this was Aka Red's mission in the first place to return the powers to their owners. Thats what I think, but we will see what happens, still no picture of what the Jet Gokai-oh is though. There is also a pic of a villian so that will highly be the villian for the episode that means no Yutaka for this tribute, but there are three more left. Now I'm going to talk about the ending of Jetman so again if you didnt see it GO TO THE NEXT PARAGRAPH! We finally find out that yes Gai Yuuki did die from being stabbed. Now people will go, "huh?" Its true though because Gai has been resurrected to fight again which is possible because we did see Dragon Ranger, TimeFire, and Abare Killer talk to Gai from afar. So this opens more possibilties of who could come in tribute episodes.

Also pics of Gozyu Gokai-oh are now realeased and its just Gokai-oh with Gozyujin's arms which is still nice to see because this means that the two mechs can easily combine which will happen when they use Go-onger's powers. Now what could this possibly mean for other powers that Gai has like Timeranger's and Zyuranger's. High chance they will be different because the other two have a drill so I cant wait for those powers.

Also another picture with Basco and his extra hero keys, but that isnt the important part here. In the corner we see Gokai Red holding onto a cannon which will be a finisher weapon for the team. This is tributing the common finisher weapon that has been used in sentai a lot, so its nice to see the new team get one as well. Lately these type of finisher weapons have been linking weapons to make it, but ones like Gekiranger's and mostly the showa sentai mostly had a big cannon to summon and finish off the monster. One thing I am hoping for in the Jetman tribute though is to hear Black Condor's theme during the fight!

The Return of Gai Yuuki!

Well now there is now a picture of the fan favoirte of Jetman appearing in Gokaiger and he still looks good even after 20 years! This is the first pre zyuranger tribute and I really wonder how Gai is holding the celluar? Did someone just drop it or did he steal it like the badass he is, we have to wait to find out because the episode is coming out in September. Now this is the only pic I could find on the Jetman tribute so far and it is almost September and if you remember my post about possible team ups will Yutaka return to play one of his roles again? I am really hoping so and maybe Toei is keeping that a secert until the previews of the episode. If not there are three other sentai series they can do it in even though those can be hard to do. Well at least we can see Gai come back and if you say Jetman you knows what happens at the end of the series, but how will it be explained. Ok this will be spoilers for the ending of Jetman so if you havent seen it GO TO THE NEXT PARAGRAPH! In the ending of Jetman, Gai was stabbed by a thug and still went to the wedding and it looked liked he died on the park bench. There is easily a chance though he survived though since it was one stab. There is the manga though and how the team had to get a new team mate, but we still dont know if that was Canon or not. There are also rumors going around about past sentai being revived for the battle, but did Dragon Ranger, Time Fire, and Abare Killer die again? Hopefully that will all be explained in the episode or it could even be a two parter all we know?

There is also more confirmation on the return of Yellow Lion, Jou from Liveman as it seems the episode could focus on the friend Jou lost during the series. Again I havent seen all of Liveman so dont spoil it for me alright (I'm trying to find it). So I really have no thought on this tribute episode, but it is another pre zyu one so I'm hyped. Also this still could be a Yutaka moment, but who knows Toei can do unexpected things. There is also the fact of Abare Blue coming back, but I also heard that Yellow will come back as well which will be nice because she did retire from acting so seeing her as her Sentai role for one final time will be nice. I saw about ten episode of Abaranger, but I stopped because I soon couldnt find good subs for the other episodes. I do know that Abare Blue himself did appear in the Eternal movie so maybe that is how Toei got him to play that role again. We are also getting tributes even though the Gokaigers have their powers already this could possibly mean that there could be special powers just for Gokai-oh because the Abare Killer is used for Gozyujin. I wonder what kind of powers that could be though same for Jetman and Liveman.

She is one my favorite yellow warriors, YEA!

For abaranger maybe it can be a summon finisher with Gokai-oh acting like the Bakuryuu Brachiosaurs and summon all the other mechs from the series. Jetman could have a bird transformation for Gokai-oh and the finisher could be it forming the Icarus Haken for the final attack. Liveman could be equips from Super Live Robo and doing the same finisher.

Possibilty: More Team Ups In Gokaiger

We all know that the Hurricangers will fight once more time with the Gokaigers, but could this happen again with other tributes? I'm going to discuss on the two tributes that have been revealed so far and some I would like to see.
First we got the fan favoirte of the one of the best sentai series, Black Condor from Jetman. It would be awsome to see this badass fight again with the team. Who could they fight though that needs the help of a veteran. Well I think Tranza could easily come back since he didnt die. That would be amazing to see another veteran villian come back, to see a veteran warrior fighting him, and the fact the actor will be Yutaka Hirose! If you dont know this guy then you are missing out of my favoirte villians of super sentai! This guy mostly played as the rival villian for the leader. Also his acting was very good in each role he does. So seeing two veteran actors return in an episode or possibly a two parter will be blow my mind!

The next actor who was revealed to come back is Kazuhiko Nishimura, I saw a little bit of Jetman I am easily trying to find more episodes because this is another pre zyuranger sentai series. Also another thing with Liveman it had Yutaka as a villian so maybe in someway they can have his ghost or something like that attack again. Dr. Kemp could have kept himself alive somehow also because of all the science he learned, but it could easily keep him very weak until he finds a way to revive his body. This could be a two parter as well, but high chance that wont happen because Kemp is dead no doubt unless something happened in Liveman near the end because I didnt see the whole thing and dont spoil it for me either.

Since Boukenger still had a tribute episode there is a high chance that Dairanger could still get one, but who could come back. No doubt it is Ryuranger, but Shishi Ranger did appear in another sentai series before which was Hurricanger so he could come back as well. If the whole team does come back I would faint because Dairanger is becoming my favoirte sentai series I saw about 20 episodes and I want to see more. Again another possible chance to bring Yutaka back to play as Jin who is easily my favoirte of his characters. I know what happens to him so he probably wont come back for that, but maybe he could make a brief appearance to motivate Ryuranger or he could just come back as a hero. Jin was an anti hero so making him a villian isnt impossible, but high chance it would be done by a new Gorma who did the same revival that Emperor Gorma the 15th did in the series.

Go-onger had Saki come back in the movie, but the whole team did come back for the Shinkenger team up so they could easily be back also I remember rumors about Go On Red coming back. Go-onger was the first sentai series I saw so seeing the whole team come back would just make me fall over in joy. Since the Go-ongers had faced villians from different dimesions before they can easily do that again like in the Shinkenger team up. Also I know that Go-onger's great power would make a combination of Gokai-oh and Gozyujin so high chance it would be a big episode for that reveal, so a good chance for another team up that I am hoping to see.

I'm going to end it there for now because I dont know every sentai series like Dynaman. So I cant say how an episode can go for those series, but overall what I would like to see the most is that Yutaka returns as one of his roles hack could even be for the flashman tribute who knows?
